With the cries of war ringing out all around them, Oribus meets the Dark Elf king on top of the hill. As he comes face to face with the king, he sees the amulet, glistening around the neck of the king.
"I see you finally have come, it took look you long enough," says the Elf king.
"I'm only giving you my company so that I can retrieve the amulet," Oribus replies.
"That's cute kid, but to do that you're going to have to rip it off my dead body," the king taunted.
"Then so be it," sneered Oribus as he pulled out his wand.
And the battle begun, Oribus using his staff and wand while the king was using dark magic and his heavy sword, made from shadow steel, one of the rarest steels and one of the strongest. The fight was back and forth, each one gaining the upper hand, but then losing it before they can capitalize. Both of them taking blow after blow from each other, not intending on letting the other capitalize. Oribus’s magic was doing some damage to the king, though he would usually counter with his own. Thats how the battle went for a while, each one hitting the other with an attack, but usually followed up by a counter move from their enemy. All around them, the wizard and dark elf armies clashed, the sounds of magic being shot from wands and steel clashing against steel rang out. Thats when it all went downhill. The cry of a wizard causes Oribus to look for a split second, but that was all the king needed. He hits Oribus in the side of the head with the handle of his sword and cast a shadow ball, that hits Oribus square on, sending him skidding across the dirt and gravel, unconscious.
“We don’t win them all” the king exclaimed.
And with that the king turned around to watch the battle, and left Oribus laying there on the ground…
…”Where am I?” Oribus asks himself.
He awoken to find himself in a field, no signs of the battle.
“It is okay my boy, you are only dreaming,” a mysterious voice says.
Oribus turns to the sound of the voice, to see an old man standing right behind him.
“Who… who are you?” he asks.
“Why, you don’t remember me? he replies with another question, “Try to remember, you have seen my picture many times throughout thee castle.”
“Grandfather?” Oribus whispers, too stunned to say it any louder.
“Ah yes, that is me,” he replies.”I have come to tell you something.”
“What is it?” Oribus questions.
“You can beat the Dark Elf king, you are stronger than him,” he says.
“But I couldn’t defeat him, he is just stronger than me.”Oribus replies.
“No he isn’t, you are stronger than him. You're not just fighting for the amulet, you're fighting for your family. You are fighting for all the wizards. He is fighting for himself and thinks that he is the best and that he can defeat anyone. But he can’t, he can’t beat you. You need to believe you can believe defeat him. Remember all those who said you couldn’t do it and take the anger into your fight. Destroy the king and show everyone that you can, that you can do it.” he encourages.
“I will grandfather, I will defeat him,”Oribus tells him…
...Oribus wakes up with a groan. He picks himself up and wipes the dirt off him. All around him the battle rages on. The dark elf king hears a shuffle of noise and turns around to see what it is this time. He is shocked to see the figure of Oribus standing there, wand and staff in hand.
“You don’t stay down do you,” the king remarks as he pulls out his sword.
“I’m not going down without the amulet,” Oribus responds.
“Come and get it then,” the king taunts.
That was exactly what he did. Oribus carefully watches his opponent, circling each other, waiting for the right time to attack. The king makes the first move, coming down hard with a big overhead strike. Oribus puts up his staff to block and they are both locked, each pushing their weapon against the others. The king starts gaining leverage, but Oribus isn’t fighting alone anymore. He has the strength of his family and all the wizards fighting with him. He lets out a loud scream and with all the strength surging through him, he pushes his weapon, sending the king flying. Now it was Oribus with the upper hand. Strike after strike, each one stronger than the last, being inflicted upon the king, who has no response to the change and is just managing to block a few strikes. Oribus is fighting like a mad man, using his magic and staff to incapacitate the king. Finally, with a burst of lightning, Oribus sends the king flying. The king tries to crawl away as Oribus approaches him. When Oribus gets to him, he rips the amulet from the kings neck as the king begs for mercy.
“Please, just take the amulet, I’ll call of my army and we will leave you alone, just let me live,” the king begs.
“No dark elf deserves mercy,” Oribus exclaims.
And with that, Oribus sends a final, powerful blast from his wand, destroying the king. With the sound of the blast also went the last sounds of the battle.
"I see you finally have come, it took look you long enough," says the Elf king.
